My short film collaboration on Sam Kay’s ‘A Shut In Place’

‘A Shut In Place’ is a sobering dramatisation of the last few hours of a heroin addict, Jesse (Benn Robert McHugh).

The poem (untitled at time of writing) that can be heard during the film was written and spoken by Jack Dickens ( / @DickensianJack)

/// My friend and flatmate Sam Kay’s (@SKay1008) competition-winning short film ‘A Shut In Place’. I was given the honour of writing a poem to accompany the film. I am also the voice that was recorded reading the poem aloud, as can be heard on the film. ///

About DickensianJack

Born in Wolverhampton in November '93, moved to Huddersfield in September 2012. Studying at the University of Huddersfield. In love with the town - simple as that. As for the blog itself, I've been doing bits and pieces of writing (with varying quality) for a few years. A friend suggested I start a blog to share my work. Most of the stuff on here is poems, but there's other work interspersed on the page. Feel free to leave any comments on my work. Twitter: @DickensianJack (Jack Dickens) Facebook: Cheers, enjoy.
