The Cherry Tree

See, I’m in inconsistent,
And I ain’t persistent
About my rhyme persistence
And the the time assistance;
And it ain’t prime time to rhyme
When grime in lines is fine,
And pain won’t gain me any fame,
And my name won’t claim shit again.

Shit, I know I’m lazy,
But it doesn’t phase me,
There’s no use in holding to
What I’m told, and
The name I yearn
Is game to burn.

Fuck, your name is nothing short of
the jeans the angels throw to to the charity shops.
I can cut lines and make rhythm
out of misery, or tourniquet
our face into my veins,
But what’s the alternative?

About DickensianJack

Born in Wolverhampton in November '93, moved to Huddersfield in September 2012. Studying at the University of Huddersfield. In love with the town - simple as that. As for the blog itself, I've been doing bits and pieces of writing (with varying quality) for a few years. A friend suggested I start a blog to share my work. Most of the stuff on here is poems, but there's other work interspersed on the page. Feel free to leave any comments on my work. Twitter: @DickensianJack (Jack Dickens) Facebook: Cheers, enjoy.
